A brilliant study reported on by The Onion, which, although deserves some attention, may be harmful to laziness.

Perhaps even more shocking, the study reveals that not working significantly decreases worker productivity, sometimes even resulting in no work getting done at all. Similar findings were reported in the areas of avoiding work, putting off work, complaining about work instead of actually working, pretending to work, and fucking around.

“Fucking around is in fact detrimental to the work process,” the study reads in part.

Try to remember this on Monday, because Friday is certainly not the day to start working.

Here’s a little trick that I found out from a bright college student. You can effectively make your papers longer by replacing all of the periods with a New Times Roman font and making them a size 14.

Of course, increasing the font size always works, but by doing this on the periods only it won’t be noticeable. You’ll save some time by not writing a few extra sentences, although I’d avoid doing this with commas and semicolons. They might tip off your professor, especially if the rest of your paper is bullshit.

MSN has come up with a list of the top jobs for slackers. Don’t be mistaken however, these are companies that promote a laid-back lifestyle, or help you slack-off on chores.

Lauren Loper (Your Mobile Gym) drives her gym-in-a-bus to you. But there’s a less-laid-back downside. She’ll make you sweat when she welcomes you aboard your own private driveway workout station.

There are also companies that promote boring movies to help you sleep, but no matter where you work, make it a point to get up from time to time. Even sitting in a home office can be bad for your body.

An easy way to prevent your computer safe from unauthorized access is to leave a sticky laying around that says “Passwords:“.

Then, set your machine to lock itself out after 5 sequential bad password attempts. The lockout should be around 1 hour.

This might help protect your assets from the roving thief around the office from guessing a good password and instead selecting one of the 6 or 7 decoys on the list you left out. This little trick specifically protects you against someone who might think they know your computer passwords.

Remember, always lock your machine when you are not in front of it, or better yet, have it automatically put in sleep mode.

Members of both sexes can look more attractive to each other (which ever way you swing) but simply smiling and looking directly at each other.

One of the paper’s authors, Dr Claire Conway, said: “People prefer faces that appear to ‘like’ them, showing that attraction is not simply about physical beauty.”

That’s a good thing if you’re ugly. But what about you women out there? It turns out that men base much of their decisions about dating you on your looks. Better to stay (or pretend) to be confident, it works.

Just think Adrian Brody.

Aside from online resources, travelers can follow some basic rules to find the best seat on a plane as conditions change. There are some good resources on the net, most notably SeatGuru, but if you don’t have the time to check it, or get bumped from your flight, follow these tips to become your own seat guru.

To save time, choose frozen vegetables over canned to get the most nutrition in a quick, low calorie meal.

When vegetables are in-season, buy them fresh and ripe. “Off-season,” frozen vegetables will give you a high concentration of nutrients. Choose packages marked with a USDA “U.S. Fancy” shield, which designates produce of the best size, shape and color; vegetables of this standard also tend to be more nutrient-rich than the lower grades “U.S. No. 1″ or “U.S. No. 2.” Eat them soon after purchase: over many months, nutrients in frozen vegetables do inevitably degrade. Finally, steam or microwave rather than boil your produce to minimize the loss of water-soluble vitamins.

Also, avoid canned vegetables since the canning process destroys much of the water-soluble vitamins in most veggies. The exception are tomato products, which actually increase in cancer killing compounds when canned, then cooked.
