Workers across the world trying to increase the number of hours but skipping lunch are actually reducing their efficiency. Researches in Wales have found that employees are trying to juggle their personal and work-related tasks during lunch breaks and accomplish less of both.

Alan Price, of Peninsula, said, “With the emergence of email communication and online networking sites, employees are combining eating at the desk during the lunch period with completing work and surfing the net, and with an increase in the amount of employees who have access to the internet, the reasons to leave the office are slipping away.

It’s good advice to set limits around your personal work when you’re at the office to keep your mind focused, and to let your mind wander outside of the office for at least 30 minutes per day. The human brain actually processes a lot of information as we daydream. Sounds like the perfect thing to do on a Friday!
